JOB TITLE: Creche Officer

Job Purpose:
The job holder is responsible for effecting the day to day running of the crèche by organising and implementing a stimulating and varied programme of activities for children aged two years and below within a group setting.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Ensure the overall safety and wellbeing of the children.
- Provide a caring, stimulating environment for the children.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate child development activities to enhance the children’s spiritual, physical, cognitive and character growth
- Ensure that rooms are prepared and set out in readiness for the day.
- Ensure a high standard of hygiene on the premises.
- Ensuring the proper maintenance of crèche equipment and resources.
- Ensure availability of Registration database and children’s files
- Keep strictly confidential any personal information and records regarding the children, their parents and others.
- Ensure that all policies governing the crèche and the code of conduct are adhered to.
- Ensure sterilization of toys and play areas so that children are safe, engaging and in a clean environment.
- Clean and wash children daily
- Keep the parents and supervisors up-to-date on the condition of the children.
- Resolve operational issues of a minor nature.
- Inform the supervisor of any matter requiring their attention.
- Budgeting for Crèche operations and management of the Crèche petty cash
- Coordinate end month meetings with the parents
- Submit monthly reports
- Participating in any other Fund activities as guided to do so.
Academic and Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Early childhood handling and care.
- Professional training in early childhood handling.
Work Experience:
At least 3yrs experience looking after young children in a pre-school day care, crèche, orphanage, babies’ home or related childcare environment and crèche equipment management.
Key Competences:
- IT skills (MSWord/Excel)
- Supervisory skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to make decisions promptly and proactively.
- Good knowledge and experience in childcare environment and regulatory framework
