Job Description

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is the largest African Coca-Cola Bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. In Uganda, we are seeking a strategic and influential Country Lead Public Affairs to lead stakeholder engagement and advance the company’s public affairs agenda.

As Country Lead Public Affairs, you will report directly to the Public Affairs, Communication and Sustainability Director

Key Purpose Statement

Shape and protect CCBU’s operating environment by leading strategic engagement with government, regulators, industry bodies and other key stakeholders, while influencing policy, strengthening corporate reputation, mitigating external risks and enabling sustainable business growth.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the country public affairs and stakeholder engagement strategy.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with government, regulators, industry associations and other key stakeholders.
• Monitor political, legislative and regulatory developments and provide strategic counsel on business implications.
• Lead advocacy initiatives that support business priorities and a favourable policy environment.
• Represent the company in external forums to strengthen CCBU’s reputation, influence and corporate standing.
• Identify and mitigate policy, regulatory and reputational risks that may impact business continuity and growth.
• Drive strategic partnerships that advance sustainability, corporate citizenship and shared value objectives.
• Ensure effective stakeholder engagement planning, executive briefings, and compliance with company governance and ethical standards.
Skills, Experience & Education Minimum Qualification
• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Communications, International Relations, Business Administration or a related field.
• A Postgraduate Qualification in Public Policy, Corporate Affairs,Communications, Law or Business Administration will be an added advantage. 

Experience
• 8–10 years’ experience in Public Affairs, Government Relations, Corporate Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Communications or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience engaging with senior government officials, regulators, industry bodies and other strategic stakeholders.
• Experience in FMCG, manufacturing or a multinational environment will be an added advantage.
