Audit Trainee – Ardenfield

Role Overview

The role supports the audit team in executing audit assignments under the supervision of Audit Seniors and Audit Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in carrying out audit assignments for multiple clients.
  • Obtain an understanding of client businesses and operations.
  • Perform audit testing and document findings clearly.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate audit working papers.
  • Verify financial records including assets, liabilities, income, and expenses.
  • Identify and report inconsistencies, errors, or unusual transactions.
  • Assist in evaluating internal control systems and highlight weaknesses.
  • Participate in stock counts and field audit assignments.
  • Support preparation of financial statements and audit reports.
  • Follow up on audit queries with clients in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards including ICPAU guidelines.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Audit Senior, Manager, or Partners

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Recent graduate or up to one year of relevant work experience.
  • Progression in a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA or CPA is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting and auditing principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel .
  • Good analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to travel to client sites when required.
  • Interest in external audit, financial reporting and assurance services.
  • Knowledge of accounting software and data analysis tools is an added advantage.
  • Commitment to pursuing a professional accounting qualification and developing a career in audit.
