Job Description

• Operate and oversee automated capping and sealing machinery to ensure all bottled beverages receive secure, airtight closures.
• Monitor cap delivery elevators, crown or screw capping heads, and torque parameters to sustain smooth line efficiency and product integrity.
• Protect finished product quality by isolating defects early, conducting routine testing, and keeping accurate operational records.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor cap delivery elevators, crown or screw capping heads, torque limits, and airtight sealing efficiency during production.
• Operate assigned capping equipment following approved start up, running, changeover, shutdown, and cleaning procedures.
• Perform routine visual inspections, torque tests, and seal integrity checks to verify package quality.
• Separate defective caps, misaligned bottles, and flawed seals immediately to prevent downstream processing.
• Execute authorized machine adjustments within specified operational limits and escalate complex faults to technicians.
• Complete cleaning, sanitation, and line clearance between production batches to prevent cross contamination.
• Maintain complete, timely, and legible shift logs, torque test sheets, and quality records.
• Comply with all occupational health, food safety, machine guarding, and personal protective equipment standards.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

• Ordinary Diploma or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Food Processing, Production Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, Applied Sciences, or related fields.
• Technical Certificate, Craft Certificate, National Certificate, or Trade Certificate in Mechanical Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical disciplines.
• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with demonstrated literacy, numeracy, and mechanical aptitude.
• Recognized TVET award or equipment supplier machine specific training in automated packaging machinery.

Experience

• No prior work experience required.
• Includes 2 weeks on capping torque calibration.
