WE ARE HIRING: AGRIBUSINESS & EXPORT OPERATIONS TRAINEE
Nexto Agro Exports is looking for a motivated, organised and ambitious person to join our growing team and develop into a key member of our export operations.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to learn international trade, agricultural exports, supplier management, logistics and business operations through practical hands-on experience.
We are not simply looking for someone to fill a position. We are looking for someone we can teach, mentor and gradually entrust with important responsibilities within the business.
What You Will Learn & Work On
The successful candidate will receive practical exposure to different areas of agricultural export operations, including:
- Receiving and responding to customer enquiries and orders
- Communicating with international buyers and understanding their requirements
- Finding and communicating with farmers, suppliers and aggregators
- Sourcing fresh agricultural produce and negotiating with suppliers
- Preparing quotations, invoices and order documentation
- Coordinating orders from supplier to customer
- Learning export procedures and international trade processes
- Coordinating transportation, collection, packaging and delivery
- Working with freight and logistics providers
- Following up on shipments and delivery schedules
- Maintaining supplier and customer records
- Conducting market and product research
- Supporting sales and business development
- Developing new supplier and buyer relationships
- Using digital tools to manage business operations
- Learning how agricultural products move from the farm to international markets
As you gain experience and demonstrate reliability, your responsibilities will increase. The long-term goal is for the successful person to become capable of independently handling important areas of Nexto Agro Exports.
Who We Are Looking For
You may be a recent graduate, an early-career professional or someone with some experience who wants to build a career in agribusiness, international trade, exports, logistics or business operations.
We are particularly interested in someone who is:
- Highly organised and responsible
- A strong communicator
- Comfortable speaking with suppliers and customers
- Willing to make phone calls and follow up on tasks
- Curious and eager to learn
- Good with computers and digital tools
- Comfortable working with Excel/Google Sheets and documents
- Able to research and find information independently
- Good at keeping records and following processes
- Commercially minded and interested in business
- Able to solve problems rather than simply wait for instructions
- Honest, dependable and professional
- Willing to take initiative
Previous experience in agriculture, logistics, exports or international trade is an advantage but it is not a requirement.
We are willing to train the right person.
What matters most to us is your attitude, willingness to learn, ability to take responsibility and desire to grow.
An Opportunity to Grow
This role is designed for someone who wants more than a conventional job.
You will have the opportunity to learn how an agricultural export business operates from the inside from finding a supplier and sourcing produce to receiving an international order, coordinating logistics and ensuring that the customer receives what they ordered.
You will work closely with the management team and gradually take responsibility for real assignments and projects.
For the right person, this can develop into a long-term position with increasing responsibility in export operations, procurement, logistics, sales and business development.
