Anti-Scam Notice

Anti-Scam Notice | HOME

JobLink is committed to protecting job seekers from fraud, deception, and exploitation. As a Uganda-based job platform focused on sharing verified jobs in Uganda, we take job safety seriously and work continuously to reduce the risk of scams on our platform and related channels.

This Anti-Scam Notice is intended to help users understand how job scams operate, what JobLink does to prevent them, and the steps job seekers should take to protect themselves while searching for employment opportunities in Uganda or applying for jobs abroad.

JobLink’s Role and Responsibility

JobLink operates as a job information and awareness platform. We publish job opportunities provided by employers, organizations, and trusted sources. While we make reasonable efforts to review and verify job listings before publication, JobLink does not act as a recruitment agency and does not control the actions of third-party employers or recruiters.

Because recruitment processes occur outside our platform, job seekers must remain alert and exercise independent judgment when applying for any job opportunity.

Common Job Scams Affecting Job Seekers

Job scams in Uganda have increased in recent years due to high demand for employment and the widespread use of social media and messaging platforms. Scammers often present fake job offers that appear genuine, professional, and urgent. These scams commonly target government jobs in Uganda, NGO jobs in Uganda, private sector jobs, and jobs abroad for Ugandans.

In many cases, scammers request payment for application fees, interview facilitation, medical tests, training, or job placement. Others impersonate legitimate organizations using fake email addresses, copied logos, or altered company names. Some scams involve fake overseas opportunities that promise guaranteed visas and quick travel arrangements.

These practices are fraudulent and should be avoided.

JobLink Will Never Request Payment

JobLink will never ask users to pay any fee to access job listings, apply for jobs, receive interview invitations, or secure employment. Any message claiming to be from JobLink that requests payment, personal financial details, or confidential information is fraudulent.

All official communication from JobLink will come through our website or our designated support email address, support@jobslinking.com.

Employer Practices and Job Seeker Caution

Legitimate employers in Uganda do not charge application or recruitment fees. Genuine recruitment processes are transparent, professional, and free from financial demands placed on job seekers. Employers will clearly identify themselves, provide verifiable contact information, and follow formal hiring procedures.

Job seekers are strongly advised to verify employer details independently, especially when applying for Uganda job vacancies today that appear urgent or unusually attractive. Requests for secrecy, pressure to act quickly, or instructions to avoid verification are common signs of fraud.

Overseas Jobs and International Recruitment Risks

JobLink occasionally shares jobs abroad for Ugandans as an additional service. These opportunities carry higher risk due to immigration requirements, recruitment licensing, and international legal processes.

JobLink does not handle visa processing, travel arrangements, employment contracts, or overseas recruitment negotiations. Users must verify all international job opportunities independently and confirm that recruiters are properly licensed and recognized by relevant authorities.

Any overseas job offer that guarantees employment, visas, or travel in exchange for payment should be treated as a scam.

JobLink’s Anti-Scam Measures

JobLink actively works to reduce job scams by reviewing job submissions, monitoring reported listings, and removing suspicious content when identified. We also rely on user reports to help detect fraudulent activity more quickly.

While no platform can eliminate all risk, our goal is to provide a safer environment for job seekers searching for employment opportunities in Uganda.

User Responsibility and Safe Job Searching

Job seekers are responsible for protecting their personal information and making informed decisions when applying for jobs. Sensitive information such as national identification numbers, bank details, or original academic documents should never be shared with unverified recruiters.

Users should always take time to research employers, confirm job details, and seek clarification when information is unclear. Applying through trusted channels and avoiding informal recruitment processes significantly reduces the risk of fraud.

Reporting Suspicious Jobs

If you encounter a job listing on JobLink or elsewhere that appears suspicious, misleading, or fraudulent, you are encouraged to report it immediately. Reports help us investigate, remove unsafe listings, and protect other job seekers. To report a job or suspicious activity, please contact us at support@jobslinking.com and provide as much detail as possible.

No Liability for Third-Party Actions

JobLink is not responsible for losses, damages, or disputes arising from interactions between users and employers or third parties. Use of job information published on JobLink is at the user’s own discretion and risk. This Anti-Scam Notice does not replace personal responsibility or legal obligations related to employment and recruitment.

JobLink believes that awareness is the strongest defense against job scams. We are committed to educating job seekers and promoting safe job-search practices through our platform and community channels. By staying informed and vigilant, job seekers can protect themselves and contribute to a safer employment environment for all.
