Young people across the IGAD region are driving climate action and advancing climate-resilient agri-food systems through advocacy, innovation, and sustainable agriculture. However, many youth-led initiatives remain constrained by limited access to climate services, funding, mentorship, business development opportunities, and institutional support.
To strengthen youth engagement and scale impact, the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre, with support from the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, is establishing the IGAD Regional Youth Coalition on Climate and Climate-Resilient Agri-food Systems.
The Coalition will bring together youth and youth-led organisations advancing climate solutions—particularly in agriculture and agri-food systems, while remaining inclusive of other climate-sensitive sectors. Members will benefit from expert-led mentoring, interactive learning sessions, knowledge exchange, opportunities for collaboration, and a platform for youth-led advocacy.
