Assistant Engineering Officer (Electrical)- Uganda Heart Institute

Description

Uganda Heart Institute (UHI) is hiring an Assistant Engineering Officer (Electrical) to maintain and repair electrical facilities and systems to ensure optimal functioning, safety, and smooth hospital operations.

Salary Scale: UHI 5SC

Reports To: Civil Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve faults in electrical systems and equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections and repairs on electrical systems, machinery, and wiring.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve technical issues.
  • Inspect new installations and test systems for compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities and collaborate with other departments.
  • Participate in training programs for equipment users and technicians.
  • Supervise junior technicians and outsourced service providers while verifying quality of work.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field from a recognized institution.

Experience

  • Experience in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering and ability to operate electrical hand tools while working at heights is an added advantage.
