Job Purpose: Responsible for driving the transition from traditional reporting to a predictive, AI-led data-driven culture. This role aims to improve business decision-making by centralizing data silos into a “Single Source of Truth,” enhancing data literacy across the organization, and utilizing advanced analytics to identify revenue growth opportunities and operational efficiencies.

Functional Outputs/Activities per key performance area:
- Data-Driven Culture Leadership: Lead the implementation of the Data Driven Culture Roadmap 2026-2027 using the Kotter 8-Step Model for change management.
- Predictive Analytics & AI: Develop and deploy Machine Learning models for demand forecasting, price elasticity, and churn prediction to drive strategic revenue initiatives.
- Insight Stewardship: Manage the “Insight of the Month” program and “Data Jams” to solve business bottlenecks and reward data-led cost savings.
- Data Literacy & Capacity Building: Design and execute persona-based training to improve staff data proficiency across all departments.
- Reporting Excellence: Maintain the Power BI “Insights Hub,” ensuring all strategic meetings utilize validated data from the Centralized Corporate Data Lakehouse.
- Automation: Implement automated “Data Gatekeepers” and ML-driven anomaly detection to ensure 99% data reliability and accuracy.
Financial Management
- Revenue Growth Management: Utilize Trade Promotion Optimization (TPO) to identify activities that drive incremental volume vs. those that dilute margin.
- Budgeting: Provide data-backed inputs into departmental budgets and monitor ROI on data infrastructure investments.
- Cost Optimization: Identify SKU rationalization opportunities and supply chain inefficiencies through product value analysis.
Risk Management
- Data Governance: Identify risks related to data privacy and security, ensuring compliance with Uganda’s Data
- Protection and Privacy regulations.
- Validation Rules: Implement hard-coded validation in ERP/SFA systems to mitigate the risk of “garbage in, garbage out.”
Compliance
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all data handling processes meet local and international regulatory standards inclusive of Data Protection and Privacy Act of Uganda, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) etc.
- Policy Alignment: Ensure adherence to all Movit Group and In-Country Policies, specifically regarding the Enterprise
Data and Analytics Framework.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Certification in Business Intelligence (e.g., Power BI, Microsoft Fabric) or Data Science is preferred.
Related Minimum Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in data analytics or business analysis, preferably within an FMCG industry.
- Proven track record of managing data migration projects or implementing BI solutions.
