Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented *Business Development Officer* to prepare bid/tender preparation, accurate costing, and general administrative support. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to grow with a rising company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify tender opportunities from government portals (PPDA, EGP Uganda, etc.) and private clients.
  • Prepare high-quality, compliant bids, proposals, and quotations.
  • Conduct accurate costing, pricing, financial analysis, and margin calculations.
  • Coordinate with technical teams for bill of quantities (BoQ), specifications, and supporting documents.
  • Handle all administrative tasks related to business development (filing, follow-ups, record-keeping, correspondence).
  • Support general office administration (scheduling, documentation, client communications, procurement support).
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners.
  • Track bid outcomes and provide regular reports to management.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in bid/tender preparation, costing, or business development (experience with Ugandan government tenders is a strong advantage).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for costing and financial modelling).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of PPDA regulations and public procurement processes is highly preferred.
  • Honest, reliable, and able to work independently in a small, dynamic team.
