Background
Makerere University School of Public Health invites applications for a Data Manager under the CONNECT4Health Project. The project seeks to strengthen integrated non-communicable disease and mental health care by connecting community, health-facility and follow-up care pathways in Buikwe and Mayuge districts.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain electronic project databases using REDCap, including data-quality checks and automated cleaning queries.
- Develop data-management, quality-assurance and quality-control procedures and conduct routine database reviews.
- Coordinate and supervise data entry across participating districts and health facilities.
- Support project teams in using data systems and complying with technical, legal and ethical requirements.
- Produce performance reports and visualisations and provide data for quarterly project reports.
- Train project staff in data management and basic statistical analysis.
- Protect project databases and archives against security breaches and data loss.
Qualifications and Desirable Qualities
- Master’s degree in Biostatistics or an equivalent qualification.
- Academic background in Statistics or Medical Statistics.
- At least five years’ experience in a similar position.
- Experience in database development, longitudinal data and interoperable data systems.
