Job Purpose: The purpose of this role is to handle shift works, carry out preventive maintenance on all equipment and attend to machine breakdowns to maintain optimal availability and productivity.
Functional Outputs/Activities per key performance area:
- Carry out routine checks and inspections on all equipment and ensure timely return of checklists to the planner.
- Raising notifications for all equipment related issues.
- Carry out preventive maintenance on all equipment as per the schedule and in an appropriate manner.
- Maintain optimal equipment availability through doing reliability centred maintenance activities planned from notifications to improve productivity.
- Timely Response to abrupt machine breakdowns to ensure continued production.
- Filling job cards for any machine breakdown that occurs.
- Carry out root cause analysis (RCA) using 5 Why problem-solving tool for any breakdown above 30mins.
- Manage daily shift costs by through focused improvement and innovations.
- Liaise with the Electrical In charge and the Planner to ensure availability of Electrical spare parts.
- Liaise with the planner, Electrical in charge and stores to receive Electrical spares parts.
- Ensure timely communication of all equipment related issues to the Electrical Incharge and the production team.
- Working closely with the different stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
- Complying to safety and Quality guidelines in day today activities.
- Preparation of daily shift handover reports.
- Ensure adherence to 5S and asset care/autonomous maintenance activities.
- Train the technical process operators on asset care and equipment set up.
- Carry out machine control system modifications, motor installation and troubleshooting.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as maybe assigned from time to time by the direct supervisor.
- Financial Management: Monitor and control daily shift maintenance costs.
Risk Management
- Identify the risks associated to the Electrical activities and communicating them to the electrical in charge.
- Compliance
• Ensure regulatory compliance in execution of activities within Uganda.
• Adherence to all Movit Group and In Country Policies and Procedures.
• Prepare and submit location daily report.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Hold minimum a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Awareness in occupational health & safety.
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in FMCG Industry preferably in a similar role.
