The Field Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring facilities at Pumping Stations 1 and 2, as well as along the pipeline, in line with EACOP’s HSE and production objectives. The role ensures reliable operation of equipment through first-level maintenance, supports commissioning and emergency response activities, and contributes to safe, efficient, and compliant operations. Key duties include reporting anomalies, executing shutdown/start-up procedures, managing chemicals, assisting maintenance teams, and participating in safety drills among others.
In accordance with policies and procedures in place in EACOP, the Operator is responsible for:
- Reports procedural deviations/equipment failure and/or incidents (immediately) to the Operations Lead.
- Takes approved remedial actions, follow procedures and standard emergency responses to limit risk to personnel, plant equipment and product inventory during emergencies.
- Ensures the control and verification of safety equipment.
- Carries out emergency maneuvers requested by Operations Lead.
- Ensures the cleanliness of the installations.
- Informs of any anomaly or incident and participate in their analysis.
- Operate all units and monitor the facilities.
- Ensures the shutdown and start-up of the installations according to the operations of the site.
- Controlling and managing chemicals.
- Ensures the reporting of the operating parameters of the various units under his responsibility.
- Participates in the execution of interventions to optimize the functioning of the installations, according to a defined program of verification of parameters, sampling, and routine analyses.
- Assist the maintenance teams during dismantling, reassembly, maintenance and repair of machines and equipment in the fields of mechanics, electricity, and instrumentation.
- Team member for the Emergency Response Team, including firefighting.
- Participate in mandatory training as and when required.
- Ensures chemical injection, lubricants & diesel consumption (Where applicable) is accurately measured.
During Construction phase:
Core activities:
- Familiarization with the project documents.
- Participates in the commissioning operations of the installations in particular the loop tests to adapt with the ICSS and specifically the SCADA.

Academic Qualifications:
- High School Certificate in Math and Science subjects
- Technical diploma in a specialty: mechanical, electrical, instrumentation or internationally accredited oil & gas training certificate.
Experience Required:
- 2 to 5 years of experience on major production sites. A good knowledge of processes and DCS / SCADA is essential.
- Good level in English a requirement, both written & spoken.
- Rigorous and organized.Must be familiar with IT tools (Word, Excel and other PC software), analytical, rigorous, good communication skills, pedagogical, autonomous, organized and recognized ability to lead a team.
