About the role:
We are looking for a Field Sales Team Leader who is responsible for recruiting, coaching and managing a
team of Sales Agents within the assigned geographical area. The role is accountable for driving
high-quality sales growth, agent productivity, customer acquisition, portfolio quality and collections
performance.

He/She will support agents in acquiring customers across all applicable customer segments and loan
sizes, while ensuring compliance with company processes and fraud-prevention controls.

Responsibilities:

1. Sales Team Performance

  • Lead the team to achieve weekly and monthly sales and disbursement targets.
  • Monitor agent productivity, pipeline and conversion rates.
  • Support agents through field coaching, joint visits and customer engagement.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive acquisition of small, medium and large loan customers.

2. Agent Recruitment & Development

  • Support recruitment, onboarding and training of Sales Agents.
  • Conduct regular coaching and one-on-one performance reviews.
  •  Identify skill gaps and provide on-the-job coaching.
  • Manage underperformance and escalate persistent performance or conduct issues.

3. Territory & Field Management

  • Plan and coordinate agent activities across the assigned Geographical region.
  • Ensure effective coverage of assigned markets and business areas.
  • Conduct regular field visits and support agents working across different locations.
  • Identify market opportunities and provide field insights to the Sales Manager.

4. Pipeline & Portfolio Management

  • Monitor the customer pipeline from prospecting through disbursement.
  • Identify bottlenecks and support agents to improve conversion.
  • Monitor collections and early delinquency trends.
  • Ensure agents communicate repayment expectations clearly to customers.

5. Fraud, Risk & Compliance

  •  Enforce KYC, customer verification and approved sales processes.
  • Identify and report potential fraud, misrepresentation and other risk indicators.
  • Ensure agents use approved systems, tools, Agent IDs and sales materials.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical conduct and process compliance.

6. Reporting & Data Management

  •  Submit accurate and timely team performance reports.
  • Use approved dashboards and systems to monitor team performance.
  •  Provide performance insights, reasons for gaps and proposed corrective actions.
  • Escalate system and operational challenges promptly.

7. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work with Credit, Collections, Product, Data and Operations teams to resolve issues affecting
    sales and customer conversion.
  • Communicate process and product changes to agents and ensure implementation.
  • Provide relevant field feedback and recommendations to the Sales Manager.

Your Profile:

  • 2-3 years’ experience as a high-performing Sales Executive, field Sales Officer or similar role.
  • Fluency in Eastern Ugandan languages is an advantage. Candidates must be based in Mbale,
    Eastern Uganda.
  • Previous team leadership or coaching experience is an advantage.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Experience in field sales and customer acquisition.
  • Basic data and reporting skills.
  • Ability to manage and support a team across different locations.
