Job Description

• Manage inline carbon dioxide carbonation units, gas chilling systems, and beverage carbonation volumes end to end for carbonated production lines.
• Ensure safe, accurate gas pressure regulation and chilling operations to achieve required beverage carbonation targets and prevent line downtime.
• Maintain high standards of pressure vessel safety, regulatory compliance, and process documentation across all operational shifts.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage inline carbon dioxide carbonation units, chilling systems, and beverage carbonation volumes to meet line recipes and standards.
• Regulate gas pressures and maintain operating parameters across all carbonation equipment and pressure vessels within safe working limits.
• Perform dissolved carbon dioxide testing and monitor real time carbonation readings to identify and correct process deviations.
• Operate and adjust chilling unit controls to achieve required liquid temperatures for optimal gas dissolution.
• Follow occupational safety, food hygiene, and pressure vessel safety protocols, using required personal protective equipment and isolation procedures.
• Maintain complete, legible, and traceable operational records including test results, pressure logs, machine settings, and shift reports.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve routine gas carbonation, pressure, and chilling malfunctions before they cause waste or downtime.
• Coordinate with upstream processing and downstream filling operators to align gas supply and carbonation readiness with line production schedules.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related engineering and physical science disciplines
• Ordinary Diploma, National Certificate, or Craft Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, or equivalent technical trade
• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) technical route with transferable technical and operational capability

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in carbonated beverage processing.
