Head of Department Nursing
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide academic and administrative leadership to the Department of Nursing
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise teaching and leaming activities within the department
- Develop, review, and update nursing curricula in line with professional and regulatory requirements
- Supervise and support nursing lecturers, tutors, and other departmental staff
- Identify staff development needs and support continuous professional development
- Handle departmental student and staff concerns and provide appropriate solutions
- Ensure proper management and availability of nursing teaching materials, laboratories, and clinical resources
- Promote ethical conduct, professionalism, discipline, and good working relationships within the department
- Represent the Department of Nursing in institutional and external academic and professional engagements
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution
- Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education
- Must be registered and licensed with the relevant professional nursing regulatory body
- At least 3-5 years of relevant teaching and clinical experience in nursing, with demonstrated experience in academic administration, curriculum development, student supervision, and clinical training
