Position: Head of Marketing
Reports to: Chief Business Officer
Duty Station: Head Office.
Job Purpose
The job holder is responsible for leading brand growth, developing product strategies through identifying, formulating, coordinating, and implementing of Marketing and Communication activities in the Bank.
Key Result Areas:
- Design and execute comprehensive Product, Marketing and Service strategies in line with the Bank’s business objectives in order to grow the Bank’s market position.
- Create go-to-market strategies for new financial solutions, digital banking apps, and specialized segment portfolios.
- Oversee the management of Opportunity Banks’ brand identity and standards across all customer and stakeholder touchpoints, for consistent brand representation.
- Plan, coordinate and participate in the Bank’s Public Relations, promotional activities such as product launches, market activations, trade fairs/exhibitions among others.
- Draft and manage the annual marketing budget to ensure effective, efficient and successful execution of advertising campaigns, product promotions and all brand initiatives.
- Build and protect the bank’s reputation, visual identity, and market presence to stand out from competitors in the banking sector.
- Align marketing campaigns with the bank’s overall business objectives to increase customer acquisition, deposits, and loan uptake.
- Proactively identify market opportunities to meet and exceed company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Manage corporate communications, media relations, advertising and research agencies and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives that build trust in the local market in support of the Bank’s corporate image and reputation.
- Manage brand studies and consumer research on products and services and recommend changes on the Bank’s strategies based on results and findings.
- Ensure the ambience and branding of the branches is in line with the Bank’s vision and mission.
- Direct and approve the design of all branding and creative assets like TV, Radio among and online channels like paid up marketing, social media content, email and direct marketing.
- Stay abreast of industry and corporate developments, events and issues in support of the Bank’s corporate image and responsibilities.
- Direct internal marketing teams and manage external creative, PR, or digital agencies to deliver high-impact campaigns.
- Ensure that the Marketing Officer conducts timely update of the Bank’s website and social media channels.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Mass Communication or any related discipline.
- Postgraduate / Professional Marketing qualifications like CIM is a MUST.
- A minimum of 10 Years work experience with 5 Years being at a Management role.
- At least 7 years’ experience in Marketing with a bias in branding, cooperate communication, public relations and media management.
- Banking / Financial sector experience is an added advantage.
- Deep experience of developing and executing large, multi-national 360 marketing campaigns.
