Position: HR and Organisational Development (OD) Officer
Reports to: Human Resources Manager
Supervises: HR Assistant
Location: Nalweyo, Kakumiro District.

Position Summary
To deliver HR and Organization development initiatives company wide. This role will coordinate training programs, support performance management, oversee recruitment and onboarding processes, manage contract administration, and assist in employee engagement and mentoring activities
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Training & Development
- Identify and assess training needs of employees.
- Organize and coordinate all staff training and capacity-building activities.
- Manage training communications, including follow-ups with departments.
- Maintain up-to-date training records, both manual and electronic.
- Track training plans and schedules to ensure timely delivery.
- Provide logistical support for internal and external training sessions.
- Implement a company-wide mentoring program to build organization capacity
Performance Management
- Support the HRM to develop a robust performance management culture in the organization.
- Support managers to translate company objectives into department and individual KPIs.
- Track the progress of the performance management cycle (goal setting, cascading goals from departments to individuals, check-ins, evaluations and resultant actions).
- Monitor adherence to timelines, coordinate rigorous follow up and escalate bottlenecks.
- Conduct continuous awareness on performance management program through training teams.
- Track completion rates and analyze trends; Draw to the attention of the HR manager pertinent information relating to integrity of the ratings, performance ratings correlation with turnover, training needs, promotions, and succession plans
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Support recruitment activities; work force planning and job design, sourcing, screening, selection, background checks, job offers and compliance.
- Coordinate onboarding; pre-boarding, induction, follow up of new employees and thereby promoting retention.
- Maintain accurate recruitment and onboarding records in HRIS/manual files.
Contracts Management
- Manage probation, contract expiry, and renewals.
Discipline
- Assist with disciplinary processes as required; Prepare for disciplinary hearings and take minutes, ensure recommended actions are executed in accordance to the terms and conditions of service.
Internship and Graduate Trainee Program
- Coordinate and support Internship and Graduate trainee programs to build a talent pool.
Employee Engagement
- Contribute to initiatives that promote employee engagement and satisfaction
Reporting
- Prepare annual, monthly, quarterly and weekly qualitative and quantitative reports related to HR department activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology or any other related discipline.
- Post Graduate Diploma in HR Management is a must
- At least five (5) years’ experience in a busy Human Resource department.
- Experience in Performance Management processes and training management.
- Good knowledge of HR management best practices, Uganda labor laws
- Excellent Administrative and organizational skills
- A team builder with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, Analytical and detail oriented, Problem-solving skills
- Flexible with ability to adapt quickly to changing requirement
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively Tactful with a high degree of confidentiality.
- Conversant with use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
