Job Title: Instructor-Electrical
Reports to: Head of Section

Job Purpose: To instruct, demonstrate and supervise trainees during practical and theoretical lessons
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the good professional practice, standards, and quality of teaching and learning of subjects.
- Ensure proper dialogue and discipline with the students and staff in the section.
- Participate in curriculum development at the section.
- Coordinating the teaching and learning of the subject/s for which one is responsible as per time table
- Conduct class and practical lessons according to time table.
- Setting standard examination & moderated papers, and continuous student assessments according to the approved curriculum.
- Ensuring timely and adequate provision of textbooks, materials, and equipment in the section.
- Ensure students records are regularly updated.
- Preparation of schemes of work and lesson plans according to approved curriculum.
- Ensuring that the maintenance and upkeep of machinery, equipment & tools related at section is regularly carried out.
- Be a role model to both students and staff through time management, decent dressing and upholding the teachers’ code of conduct.
- Attend and participate in sectional meetings.
- Develop strategies and implement the training with production function.

Key Performance Indicators:
- Daily student attendance registers marked.
- Evidence of staff participation in curriculum development.
- Students record updated.
- Timely attendance and execution of duties noted.
- Teacher’s code of conduct observed.
- Class student discipline observed.
- Timely standard examination and moderated question paper signed (tests, end of term and end of year).
Qualifications and Work experience
- A Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering from recognized intuition.
- A diploma in Technical Teacher/ Instructor Education (DITTE/ DTTE) from recognized University / Institution or a diploma in Vocational Instructor Training (DVT) is a MUST for all applicants.
- Minimum teaching experience of two years in the areas/field.
