Job Purpose
To support the Directorate in execution of its legal duties in accordance with the National Information Technology Authority Act, 2009 and other relevant Laws in force.
Key Accountabilities
• Conducting legal research and providing legal opinions;
• Preparation and review of routine and small value contracts;
• Preparation and review of non-complex and routine Memoranda of Understanding;
• Providing clerical support in preparation of Contracts and Memoranda of Understanding;
• Preparation of Court Pleadings
• Performing clerical duties required in preparation, filing and serving court documents and reports;
• Watching Brief (Attending and observing court proceedings in the company of NITA-U Lawyers and designated State Attorneys);
• Conducting legal due diligence;
• Preparation of internal and external letters and memoranda;
• Attending meetings as assigned;
• Conducting internal legal awareness drives;
• Delivering and filing internal and external correspondences;
• Organizing and filing Directorate documents;
• Any other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Education
• Bachelors’ degree in Law from a recognized University
• Diploma in Legal Practice is a requirement
Experience
At least six (6) months of relevant experience in legal practice, corporate legal services, regulatory or compliance work within a reputable public or corporate organization.
