JOB DESCRIPTION
ITDP Africa is seeking a Manager, Transport Finance to lead and strengthen its work on sustainable transport financing and investment mobilisation across African cities. The role will work at the intersection of transport planning, public finance, development finance, and climate policy, helping governments and partners turn sustainable mobility priorities into well-structured, investment-ready programmes.
The Manager will provide technical and strategic leadership on financing for public transport, electrification, walking, cycling, and other sustainable mobility solutions. This includes developing financial models, advising on funding and financing mechanisms, supporting project preparation, and building relationships with governments, multilateral development banks, development finance institutions, climate funds, and private investors.
We are looking for an experienced transport or infrastructure finance professional with at least ten years of relevant experience, strong financial modelling capabilities, and a solid understanding of development finance, blended finance, PPPs, and transport investment in Sub-Saharan Africa. The position is full-time and may be based in Ethiopia, Kenya, or Uganda.
