Position: Program Officer (TB/HIV)
Reports to: Care and Treatment Advisor
Supervises: None

Description
The Program Officer will work in collaboration with the program team and health facility teams guided by technical oversight of technical leads to implement integrated lifesaving HIV/TB prevention, care, treatment and support services the targeted sites. S/he will work closely with facility managers to ensure that critical quality HIV /TB activities are implemented in line with the MOH standards and in line with approved scope in the supported facilities using an
integrated approach.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

• Work with the site teams in planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting on priority HIV testing, Adult and Pediatric/Adolescent Care & Treatment and support services.
• Work with the Community & PSS officers to coordinate skilling of Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) in the prioritized district(s).
• Work with site teams to implement integrated high impact MNCH/PMTCT/EID interventions
• Work with the site teams & Community Health Workers to support TB case finding and access to TB treatment & preventive therapy.
• Work with the site teams and M&E officers to ensure accurate and timely data capture, collection, monitoring and reporting for services within supported facilities. Support the identification and implementation of quality improvement interventions towards improved service delivery.
• Work with the laboratory team to ensure effective coordination of the laboratory hub/sample transport network and optimal utilization of the diagnostic platforms including GeneXpert, CrP and POC/EID/VL and other platforms for client sample/result management within supported sites.
• Work with Logistics & supply chain team to sustain commodity availability within the supported sites through accurate forecasting/ordering and reporting.
• Contribute to documentation of the best practices, success stories, abstracts in the supported district/cluster.
• Spearhead engagement with the facility leadership for planning and implementation of activities.
• Develop customized work plans, weekly and district activity reports and budgets.
• Perform any other duties as requested and assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and experience.

• Degree in Medicine or Nursing with Public Health/ project management as an added advantage
• At least 3 years of working with donor funded HIV/TB programs.
• Experience working with local government/districts or military and willingness to work upcountry.
• Excellent command of data analytics, data use for decision making
• Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
• Ability to develop Activity plans and budgets.
• Computer proficiency in word, excel and power point.
