Straight Talk Foundation (STF) is a Ugandan health communications National Non-Governmental
Organization that was founded in 1993 and operates nationally in Uganda. Its activities and interventions
aim at improving the sexual reproductive health and wellbeing of young people for adoption of healthy
behaviors in Uganda through advocacy, evidence driven communication and youth friendly service delivery.
Project Title: SAY Plus+: Strengthening Adolescents and Youth Rights and Empowerment Programme
(Scaling Impact) in Uganda’s Underserved Regions – SRHR Partnership Programme
Impact Focus Area: Advancing the rights, health, and opportunities of adolescents and young people in
underserved regions of Uganda, with particular emphasis on girls, refugees, out-of-school adolescents and youth not in education, employment, or training (NEET), persons with disabilities, and other minority
groups by promoting equitable access to education, health, protection, and livelihood opportunities.
STF seeks to fill the following vacant positions to support the implementation of the program. 1. Project Officer – SAY PLUS Project (02 Positions); Duty station: Kaabong and Karenga, Karamoja sub – region
Reporting Relationship: The Project Officers – SAY PLUS Project will report to the Project Coordinator, SAY PLUS Project / Moroto Youth Centre Coordinator.
Job Purpose:
The Project Officer will provide essential administrative and technical support to the SAY PLUS Project, working closely with the Project Coordinator and programme team members to ensure successful
implementation and achievement of project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Project Coordinator to initiate, plan, and coordinate project activities.
- Maintain relationships with district authorities, community leaders, CSOs, and religious
structures. - Promote active participation of communities and stakeholders in project implementation.
- Support implementation of capacity-building and SRHR/GBV activities.
- Prepare periodic work plans and reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Academic Background, Experience and Person Specifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social Administration, Public Health, Community
Development, or related field. - At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Training in project planning and management is an added advantage.
- Experience in ASRHR is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, documentation, and Microsoft Office skills.
- Willingness to reside in the project region with occasional travel to Kampala.
