POSITION: Recovery Officers
LOCATION: Mukono, Jinja, Kampala
JOB TYPE : Full Time
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up on overdue loans and ensure timely repayment by clients.
- Contact clients through phone calls, messages, and physical visits to recover outstanding debts.
- Negotiate repayment plans with defaulting clients in line with company policies.
- Monitor overdue accounts and maintain an updated register of defaulters.
- Track loan repayments and coordinate with the Accounts Department to verify payments.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly recovery reports.
- Work closely with loan officers and branch managers to improve loan recovery performance.
- Identify high-risk accounts and escalate difficult cases to management.
- Maintain accurate records of recovery activities, client commitments, and payments.
- Ensure all recovery activities are conducted professionally, ethically, and in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Requirments
- Education: Minimum of Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent.
- Experience: Prior experience in debt recovery, loan collection, credit management, or a related field is required.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate professionally with clients.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to handle difficult clients, resolve disputes, and maintain professional relationships.
- Numerical Skills: Basic numeracy skills and the ability to understand loan balances, repayments, interest, and penalties.
- Record Keeping: Ability to maintain accurate recovery records and prepare basic reports.
- Personal Attributes: Must be honest, disciplined, self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Fieldwork: Willingness and ability to travel for client visits and conduct field recovery activities when required.
