Job Title: Reservoir Engineer Trainee
Location: Kampala, Uganda. Mobilized to Albert Lake, construction sites or other cities if required.
Primary function:
Responsible for reservoir studies, reservoir modelling, reservoir data acquisition, and well monitoring.
Responsibilities:
- Support in preparation of reservoir model designs to define optimum full-field reservoir development plans as instructed by Reservoir Engineers.
- Participate in the reservoir study of oil/gas field, including fluid analysis, well testing and production forecast.
- Assist with reservoir data acquisition, evaluation of appraisal and development wells.
- Participate in peer review, geosciences and reservoir workshops and partner presentations.
- Assist the line manager in interacting with Engineering, Geophysics, Drilling and New Ventures to achieve department/company objectives.
- Assist in dynamically tracking the operation and making dynamic operational forecasts, provide methods of production optimization, submit research results and the recommendation report to the line manager.
- Work with Reservoir Engineers to provide input data to reservoir-related work programs, budgets and AFEs (as appropriate), contributing to cost and schedule monitoring.
- Assist in the procurement and contracting processes for reservoir-related projects.
- Responsible for reservoir database management.
- Assist preparation of annual resources report (ARR).
- Work on reservoir engineering daily tasks.
- Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum / Reservoir Engineering, or the related.
- At least 0-2 years of related working experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of reservoir and reserve estimation.
- Knowledge of subsurface reservoir dynamics during production.
- Knowledge of Geoscience Software (Petrel and Eclipse) for reservoir modelling and simulation.
- Knowledge of laws, acts, regulations and agreements guiding upstream operations
