Job Description

Job Summary:

The Risk and Compliance Intern will be responsible for developing competencies in regulatory compliance and its application to technology-driven processes. This role offers an opportunity to build practical skills and gain valuable exposure across several key areas, including Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, Cybersecurity, Information Technology Assurance, Data Analytics, and Internal Controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Learning and Development: Develop practical knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks, ABC standards, and relevant risk management methodologies through structured learning and hands-on experience.
  2. Support Risk Assessments: Assist in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks across various projects, ensuring processes align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  3. Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain professional working relationships with internal teams and relevant stakeholders to support effective communication, coordination, and delivery of risk and compliance initiatives.
  4. Monitoring and Reporting: Support the monitoring of risk indicators, compliance status, and internal control effectiveness, and assist in preparing regular updates, insights, and reports for the Head of Risk and Compliance.
  5. Technology and Risk Integration: Develop an understanding of how emerging technologies and digital tools can support risk management, compliance monitoring, and control assurance.
  6. Data Quality Assurance: Assist in identifying and addressing data quality issues, monitoring project timelines, and highlighting potential risks to delivery, escalating concerns where necessary.
  7. Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk and compliance processes, standards, and methodologies through research, analysis, and feedback.
  8. Additional Duties: Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time in support of the Risk and Compliance function.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field from a recognized university.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong interest in regulatory compliance and risk management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with technology concepts and an eagerness to learn about the integration of technology in compliance and risk management.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
