About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious, target-driven, and independent Sales Officer to join our team immediately. In this role, you will drive direct field activations, manage local distribution networks, and accelerate sales of Solar Powered Irrigation Solutions (SPIS) across high-potential regions, specifically Greater Masaka and Western Uganda.
We require an experienced young professional who can hit the ground leveraging on existing networks, manage community sales agents, and close commercial deals without needing extended onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Field Sales & Target Delivery:
- Achieve a monthly sales target of 5 full SPIS systems.
- Actively prospect, conduct site visits, generate quotes, and close high-value sales with commercial farmers, coffee growers, dairy/cattle keepers, and agricultural enterprises.
- Agent Network Management:
- Identify, train, coordinate, and manage a network of local community sales agents across Greater Masaka and Western Uganda.
- Support agents in closing leads, manage CRM registration and commission distribution.
- Field Activation & Mobilization:
- Plan, organize, and execute field activations, product demonstrations, and cooperative meetings.
- Represent the company at regional agricultural expos and farmer gatherings.
- Technical Communication & Value Proposition:
- Translate technical product features (solar pumping, irrigation solutions) into simple, ROI-driven commercial terms for farmers and business owners.
- Collaborate closely with back-office Sales Engineers for rapid turnaround on site surveys and quotations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: 3+ years of proven, field sales experience in at least one of the following sectors:
- Renewable Energy / Off-grid Solar / Solar Pumping
- Agricultural Inputs / Machinery
- Coffee Sector / Horticulture Value Chain
- Dairy / Cattle / Livestock Sector
Competencies:
High autonomy, proven loyalty, and clear sales track record. o Strong network in Greater Masaka and Western Uganda.
Deep understanding of field mobilization and relationship building. o Fluency in English and relevant regional local languages (e.g., Luganda, Runyankole, Rukiga).
Logistics:
Based in Kampala with high willingness to travel extensively to field sites.
