Responsibilities
- Receive, label, register, and organize samples for laboratory analysis
- Prepare mineral samples per established procedures, including drying, crushing, sieving, weighing, and packaging
- Ensure correct sample identification and prevent contamination or mixup
- Clean and maintain sample preparation equipment and work areas
- Follow lab health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Maintain accurate sample preparation records and assist with sample movement/storage
Qualifications
- Certificate in education with a Chemistry major
- Ability to handle laboratory and sample preparation equipment
- Physically fit and able to perform routine sample preparation duties
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Willingness to work in a team and comply with health and safety requirements
