Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU) is a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), the world’s largest Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) non-governmental organization. RHU’s core mandate is to champion and sustainably provide training, research evidence, high-quality rights based SRHR information and services, with a special focus to young people.

RHU seeks to recruit highly skilled, experienced and motivated person to fill the following position

Position: Service Provider In-Charge (I Post)
Duty Station: Lira
Reports to: Medical Coordinator

Job Role

Manage and provide quality Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services at RHU service delivery outlets/ clinics in accordance with Ministry of Health (MOH) and RHU guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate and monitor programme implementation at branch level to ensure attainment of planned results.
  • Initiate and develop programme activities that address branch SRH needs in a gender and youth focused manner.
  • Provide technical support to staff and Community Based Reproductive Health (CBRH) agents for improved performance
  • Develop and maintain networks with partner agencies at branch level for purposes of resource sharing and cost saving
  • Prepare branch activity reports and coordinate preparation of financial reports for submission to management.
  • Coordinate volunteer members’ activities including meetings in the branch
  • Provide SRH services to clients at all service delivery points as per RHU’s SRH package Manage SRH service delivery points according to quality and facility guidelines
  • Perform any other professional duties as may be required from time to time by the

Training and experience

  • Medical degree from a recognized institution with specialisation in reproductive health or related field.
  • At least three (3) years in implementing Family Planning/
  • Reproductive Health Programmes in Uganda, preferably in Reproductive Health service delivery projects
  • Demonstrated experience in providing capacity building and assistance with the public, the private sector, and at community level.

Knowledge, skills and temperament

  • Knowledge and skill in offering and facilitating integrated Sexual and Reproductive health services delivery.
  • Ability to organize a multi-task, delivering quality outcomes in an efficient and timely manner
  • Demonstrated leadership, administration and motivation skills
  • Skill in coaching, guiding, and building task-oriented teams.
  • Skill in resource mobilization, training, quality of care assessment, supervision, writing and documentation.
  • Ability to speak the native language (Langi) is a pre-requisite
