Position Overview
Masaka Creamery is seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Shop Attendant to support daily retail operations and deliver excellent customer service. The Shop Attendant is responsible for attending to customers, handling sales transactions, maintaining product quality and cleanliness, and ensuring accurate stock handling. This role plays an important part in representing the Masaka brand and ensuring customers have a positive and trustworthy experience.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
The main objectives and responsibilities of the position are to:
1. Customer Service & Sales
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with product selection.
- Provide accurate information about Masaka dairy products, prices, and promotions.
- Process sales transactions accurately using cash or point-of-sale systems.
- Handle customer questions, feedback, and complaints politely and professionally.
2. Product Handling & Quality
- Ensure all products displayed and sold meet Masaka Creamery quality standards.
- Check product freshness, packaging, and expiry dates regularly.
- Follow hygiene and food safety procedures at all times.
3. Stock Management
- Receive, arrange, and display products neatly and attractively.
- Monitor stock levels and report low or damaged stock to the supervisor.
- Support stock counts and ensure proper storage of products.
4. Shop Cleanliness & Organization
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Ensure shelves, counters, and display areas are tidy and well arranged.
- Follow opening and closing procedures consistently.
5. Compliance & Integrity
- Handle cash and products honestly and responsibly.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and instructions from supervisors.
- Maintain professionalism and represent Masaka Creamery values at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of secondary school education.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is an added advantage but not required.
- Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of honesty, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and follow hygiene and quality standards.
Compensation & Working Conditions
Compensation: To be determined.
Paid Leave: 18 days annually.
Work Location: Plot G5, Kigali Special Economic Zone, Kigali, Rwanda.
Contract: Open-ended.
Reporting To: Shop / Sales Supervisor
Expenses: As per shop schedule (including weekends or shifts, if required)
