We’re Hiring: Site-in-Charge / Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)
Industrial X-Ray and Allied Radiographers (EA) Ltd – IXAR
Africa is growing! We’re looking for an experienced Site-in-Charge / Radiation Safety Officer to join our team in Kampala, Uganda.
IXAR provides non-destructive testing (NDT) and industrial inspection across Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. That includes industrial radiography, ultrasonic testing, pipeline inspection and radiation safety training.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage day-to-day site operations
- Implement and oversee the radiation protection programme for industrial radiography work
- Keep the site compliant with regulatory requirements and licence conditions
- Monitor radiation, keep dosimetry records, handle source security and report incidents
Train, supervise and mentor the site team on safe work practices
What we’re looking for:
- A recognised RSO certification or qualification
- At least 4 years of site or field experience, ideally in NDT or industrial radiography
- A degree or diploma in Physics, Engineering or a related field
- Strong knowledge of HSE and radiation safety standards
- Good leadership, communication and documentation skills
