Job Description

• Inspect finished sealed snack bags for defects, pack bags into secondary corrugated cartons, and securely apply box tape.
• Operate the assigned packing station safely and efficiently while maintaining line throughput, defect containment, and high standards of food safety.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect finished sealed snack bags for visual, weight, seal, temperature, alignment, and packaging defects before packing.
• Pack snack bags into secondary corrugated cartons according to specified counts and packing speeds.
• Apply box tape securely to secondary cartons following approved packaging specifications.
• Perform station start up, operation, changeover, and shutdown procedures according to approved standard operating instructions.
• Execute and record routine visual, seal, count, and cleanliness checks truthfully on designated logs at the time of completion.
• Separate defective product or packaging promptly and escalate recurring faults or equipment issues to supervisors and technical support.
• Clean, sanitize, and organize the packing station during operations, product changeovers, and end of run clearances to prevent contamination and mix ups.
• Follow all occupational health and safety, food safety, hygiene, and personal protective equipment rules throughout the shift.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE / S.4) or Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE / S.6)
• National Certificate, Craft Certificate, Technical Trade Certificate, Ordinary Diploma, National Diploma, or TVET training in Food Processing, Production Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, Applied Sciences, Printing Technology, or related technical disciplines

Experience

• No prior work experience required. Includes 1 week packing line orientation.
