Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Support the delivery of the Group’s business strategy by identifying opportunities to improve and develop Fund Services operations.
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders within and outside the Bank, applying strong Fund Services knowledge and a proactive approach to managing operational risks.
  • Work collaboratively with management and relevant stakeholders to support new initiatives and business requirements.

Business

  • Apply strong Fund Accounting expertise and relevant industry knowledge to support the effective delivery of Fund Services.
  • Act as a key link between clients and Global Business Services (GBS) teams, ensuring clear communication and effective coordination of Fund Services activities. This reflects the Hiring Manager’s emphasis on the role being an important intermediary between clients and GBS.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to support the timely and accurate delivery of daily Net Asset Value (NAV) reporting.

Processes

Fund Services Client Onboarding

  • Work with clients, Sales and Product teams to finalise relevant onboarding documentation, including the Private Placement Memorandum (PPM), Fund Administration Services Agreement (FASA) and Service Level Memorandum (SLM).
  • Coordinate with Implementation and Sales teams to onboard new Fund Services clients.
  • Facilitate client onboarding onto SeCCure and Multifonds in collaboration with the relevant GBS hub.
  • Coordinate with Data Management and GBS teams on new fund setups and new instruments introduced into funds.

Fund Services Net Asset Value (NAV) Process

  • Coordinate the daily reporting of Fund Accounting and Transfer Agency transactions to the relevant GBS teams.
  • Support the timely delivery and accuracy of NAV reports.
  • Liaise with GBS teams to ensure timely processing of Transfer Agency (TA) transactions.
  • Coordinate with the relevant Compliance teams on compliance monitoring and performance reporting.
  • Maintain effective communication between clients and GBS teams to support accurate and efficient service delivery.

People & Talent

  • Support continuous learning and development within the function.
  • Build effective working relationships with GBS teams and Risk and Control partners, maintaining appropriate service expectations and regular engagement.
  • Demonstrate accountability, collaboration, teamwork and innovation in delivering responsibilities.
  • Promote effective communication across clients, internal stakeholders and GBS teams, given the high level of interaction required in the role.

Risk Management and Governance

  • Review Fund Services processes regularly, identifying opportunities to reduce manual workarounds through automation and improved ways of working.
  • Promote consistent best practices and continuously strengthen operational procedures.
  • Maintain a strong control environment and support the satisfactory closure of audit and Management Assurance Review requirements.
  • Ensure information required for audits is provided promptly and that agreed actions arising from findings are implemented and tracked to closure.
  • Maintain robust contingency arrangements for system or infrastructure disruptions, unexpected transaction volumes, resource challenges or service-provider disruptions.
  • Identify and address operational risks and process gaps that could result in operational losses.
  • Review Departmental Operating Instructions (DOIs) and operational checklists regularly and update them where required.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Fund Services regulations and complete all mandatory Risk and Compliance training within required timelines.
  • Proactively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve Risk, Conduct and Compliance matters.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and uphold Standard Chartered’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for maintaining high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance and business conduct.
  • Understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and internal requirements.
  • Identify, escalate and appropriately manage Risk, Conduct and Compliance matters in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Standard Chartered, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong practical knowledge and experience in Fund Accounting, identified by the Hiring Manager as the primary experience requirement for the role.
  • Good understanding of Fund Services and the broader investment administration environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly when coordinating between clients and GBS teams.
  • Ability to analyse information, apply relevant expertise and use technology effectively.
  • Strong focus on accuracy, service delivery and meeting client expectations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Custody experience would be advantageous, although the Hiring Manager confirmed that this should not be treated as an essential requirement.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Investment Accounting.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in Investment Administration.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Trustee Operations or Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) pricing, including Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations.
  • At least 2 years’ Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) Compliance experience.
  • Relevant experience in Custody would be advantageous.
  • No specific professional or academic qualification is mandatory where the candidate has the required Fund Accounting and operational experience. The Hiring Manager indicated that relevant Fund Accounting, Finance qualifications or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) may be beneficial, but are not a prerequisite.
