𝗗𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Luwero, Uganda (with field travel across the country)

Hillnate Consultants (U) Limited, on behalf of our client, a large manufacturing company engaged in agro-processing and the production of ethanol and related industrial products, is seeking a competent and results-oriented 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿.

The successful candidate shall support the sourcing and procurement of dry maize and cassava, working closely with farmers, outgrowers, aggregators and field teams across Uganda to ensure a consistent, cost-effective supply of quality raw materials for manufacturing operations.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

•  Identify, engage and maintain relationships with maize farmers, outgrowers, aggregators and other suppliers.
• Coordinate maize and cassava sourcing, purchasing, collection and transportation to the manufacturing plant.
• Conduct field visits to assess crop availability, expected harvests, market prices and supply opportunities.
• Support supplier negotiations, quality assurance, procurement documentation and cost control.
• Monitor sourcing performance, delivery schedules and raw material availability to support uninterrupted production.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿

• Relevant qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Agribusiness, Agriculture or a related field.
• Practical experience sourcing and purchasing maize, preferably within a structured corporate or agro-processing manufacturing environment.
• Experience working directly with farmers, outgrower networks, agricultrual aggregators and field-based sourcing teams.
• Knowledge of agricultural commodity markets, post-harvest handling, grain quality standards and procurement logistics.
• Experience sourcing cassava shall be an added advantage.
• Strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, reporting and coordination skills.
• Willingness and ability to undertake frequent field assignments across Uganda.
