Training Initiative for Modelling Epidemic Response in Africa (TIMERA)
TIMERA is an EDCTP3-funded fellowship program designed to strengthen infectious disease modelling capacity among African public health professionals.
The fellowship provides a 12-month blended learning program consisting of preparation, two face-to-face training blocks, remote mentoring, group work, thematic workshops, and an evidence-generation phase.
Approximately 50 African fellows will be trained through three sequential cohorts during the 2026–2029 project period.

Who Can Apply?
- African professionals/researchers with a Master’s degree or equivalent in Public Health & related fields
- At least 2 years of post-Master’s work experience in a sub-Saharan African organization
- Must have employer support to participate
- Must be available to attend both in-person training blocks in Addis Ababa
- Applicants must commit to the full 12-month fellowship
Duration: 12 months
