Job Description

• Oversee the day to day operation of the toolroom and engineering store by cataloging spare parts, managing tool checkouts, and issuing maintenance supplies.
• Maintain physical and system stock accuracy while monitoring minimum and maximum inventory levels to prevent operational downtime.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Catalog engineering spare parts and maintain bin location tracking to ensure organized and accessible storage.
• Manage tool checkouts, inspect returned tools for proper condition, and maintain custody records.
• Track spare parts usage against established min/max thresholds to support timely reordering.
• Issue engineering spares and maintenance items strictly against authorized requisitions.
• Verify quantities, physical condition, part numbers, and documentation for all received and returned stock.
• Store parts and tools in appropriate environments to prevent moisture exposure, contamination, damage, theft, and unsafe stacking.
• Record all stock receipts, issues, and transfers accurately in logbooks and digital inventory systems to eliminate unrecorded stock movements.
• Enforce occupational safety, PPE usage, and secure access controls inside the toolroom at all times.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, Higher Diploma, Ordinary Diploma, or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Storekeeping, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Stores Management, Inventory Management, Warehousing, Transport and Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, Agribusiness, Agriculture, Packaging, or Business Studies
• National Certificate or vocational technical trade certificate in mechanical, electrical, storekeeping, or inventory disciplines
• UACE or UCE level education combined with relevant vocational training or demonstrated numeracy and record keeping capability
• Professional credentials such as CIPS or related supply chain certifications are recognized

Experience

• No prior work experience required.
• Includes a two week engineering store orientation.
