Job Summary The Trial Nurse will be responsible for the accurate completion of visit procedures and collection of information from study participants according to protocol, and welfare of study participants
Roles:
- Identify potential study participants
- Consent and enroll eligible participants
- Conduct questionnaire interviews and conduct clinical reviews of study participants during enrollment
- Conduct follow-ups with study subjects and complete the follow-up logs as per the protocol.
- Take vital signs measurements
- Collect and prepare samples from study participants
- Dispense study and other medications
- Keep an organized laboratory log of all samples collected and transferred and document quality assurance procedures applied during sample management
- Perform adherence counselling and other counselling needed by the patients
- Perform other nursing duties such as organising the clinic, dusting, and patient cleaning whenever needed.
- Ensure proper filling of study and clinical records
- Manage clinical supplies at the study site
- Perform first-level quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) to ensure all fields in the consent forms and case report forms (CRFs) are complete and accurate
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Registration with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council with a valid Annual Practicing License (APL).
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements & Good Clinical Practices (GCP) is an added advantage
- Clinical trials research experience is an added advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
