Resiliencia Uganda Ltd is seeking a Digital Services Specialist & Client Operations Manager to lead the field deployment, advisory execution, and user-centered optimization of SmartCane’s digital sugarcane management platform in East Africa.

Resiliencia Uganda is introducing SmartCane to Uganda and the broader East African market. SmartCane is a software engineering platform providing specialized digital advisory services for the sugar sector. In this management-level role, the Client Operations Manager oversees the strategic rollout of

SmartCane’s proprietary agronomic platform, aligning high-level business development with technical product adaptation.

Serving as the primary executive and technical conduit between SmartCane’s leadership in the Netherlands and operational execution in East Africa, the Manager will translate field indicators into platform software requirements, lead regional market validation, direct customer success strategies, and govern digital advisory protocols for commercial estates and smallholder sugarcane networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Governance of Digital Advisory Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end management, quality control, and execution of digital advisory protocols; analyze platform indicators, satellite data, and sensor inputs to ensure growers receive high-impact yield optimization strategies.
  • Field Validation & Agronomic Analytics: Direct specialized field diagnostics, user analytics, and structured farmer research to validate SmartCane’s predictive algorithms against real-world smallholder and commercial growing conditions.
  • Technical Bridge & Platform Refinement: Synthesize field user feedback, feature requests, and system issues into formal technical specifications; collaborate directly with SmartCane’s Dutch software developers to optimize platform UI/UX and advisory logic.
  • Customer Journey & Persona Development: Map out digital customer journeys and user personas tailored to East African sugarcane producers to maximize platform adoption, data fidelity, and long-term client retention.
  • Commercial Growth & Regional Scaling: Lead market expansion, business development, and client acquisition strategies for SmartCane across East Africa; establish scalable onboarding frameworks for sugar factories, outgrower schemes, and farmer cooperatives.
  • Cross-Border Operational Alignment: Coordinate technical, advisory, and commercial workflows seamlessly between Resiliencia Uganda and SmartCane B.V. (Netherlands).

    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels, from local smallholder farmers and estate managers to international software engineering teams and corporate directors.
