The French Embassy in Uganda is pleased to announce the 2026–2027 Bourses Locales, dedicated to supporting motivated and deserving Ugandan students who wish to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in French Language Studies at a recognized Ugandan university. This merit and financial-need-based scholarship program is part of the French Embassy’s commitment to academic cooperation and promotion of the study of the French language in Uganda.
- Be Ugandan nationals and residents of Uganda
- Hold an Ugandan A-Level Certificate or its equivalent
- Have offered and passed French at A-Level
- Have secured admission to a recognized Ugandan university
- Demonstrate genuine financial need and motivation to pursue studies in French
- Be committed to studying in Uganda for the entire duration of the program

Your application file must include:
a) A copy of your valid National ID
b) A Recommendation Letter (not mandatory but strongly encouraged)
c) A Cover Letter (maximum 1 page) explaining your motivation and how the scholarship aligns with your career goals
d) Copy of your A-Level certificate or equivalent (maximum 1 document)
e) A Letter of Admission to a recognized Ugandan university (To be sent later, Upon admission)
f) A Curriculum Vitae (maximum 1 page)
g) Documents showing your financial situation (e.g., past scholarships, payslips, bank statements of applicant or parents)
