Requirements

The Airtel Africa Foundation is offering full fellowships to 20 exceptional first year undergraduate students in Uganda, empowering the next generation of leaders in technology and innovation.

The fellowship covers tuition, accommodation, academic materials, and a fixed stipend to cover core course expenses.

The fellowship focuses on students pursuing degrees in:
Information Technology (IT)Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be admitted as a first-year student for the academic year 2026/2027 at one of the participating universities
  • Be a Ugandan national
  • Not hold any other scholarship, including a Government of Uganda Scholarship
  • Be admitted to an eligible course at a participating university
  • Be a new entrant, admitted to first year for the first time. Students repeating first year, and students transferring from another programme, are not eligible
  • Meet the minimum entry requirements of the university, being at least two principal passes at UACE obtained in one sitting, and demonstrate the potential to succeed in their selected programme
  • Come from a financially constrained background and demonstrate financial need
