Job Description
- Lead the human resources function by overseeing recruitment, Ugandan labor law compliance, payroll, employee welfare, performance management, and industrial relations.
- Provide operational leadership and departmental coordination to ensure workforce stability, professional discipline, and alignment with manufacturing site objectives.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee end to end recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to meet operational staffing requirements.
- Ensure strict compliance with Ugandan labor laws, statutory regulations, and internal company policies.
- Manage payroll administration, employee welfare schemes, and industrial relations matters effectively.
- Administer performance appraisal systems, give timely feedback, address repeated performance gaps, and support staff coaching.
- Resolve employee grievances, manage labor dispute resolution, and facilitate formal disciplinary processes.
- Lead the HR team by setting clear daily priorities, allocating duties according to competence, and maintaining a visible floor presence.
- Maintain complete, traceable, and confidential records within the HRIS and personnel files to guarantee audit readiness.
- Collaborate cross functionally with operational departments to address staffing constraints, manage absenteeism, and prevent unsafe operational shortcuts.

Education Qualifications & Experience
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Management, or a closely related discipline.
- Higher Diploma, Ordinary Diploma, or other recognized tertiary qualification in a relevant business, management, or administrative field.
- Relevant UBTEB, TVET, supervisory, or professional HR certifications, or equivalent accredited international qualifications.
Experience
- 5+ years as an HR Manager or Senior HR Officer in a manufacturing setting.
